OPTICAL TECHNOLOGY SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP (APS APPLICATIONS)
The Optical Technology Special Interest Group
(Australian Public Service applications) (OTSIG)
will be meeting at:
* 9.45 a.m. for a 10 a.m. sharp start
* on Thursday, 6 October 1994
* at the Level 4, Conference Room,
National Library of Australia,
Corner of King Edward Terrace and Parkes Place,
Parkes, Canberra.
The OTSIG normally meets at the above time and place on the 1st
Thursday of even months.
The main purpose of the OTSIG is to provide an open forum for
discussions concerning Australian federal agencies' experiences with
optical technologies, as well as providing a continuing opportunity to
invite relevant industry representatives to stage presentations on a
range of relevant topics. All persons with an interest in the use of
optical technologies in the Australian Public Service are welcome to
attend. There is no attendance fee.
The October 1994 meeting will include a demonstration by the Systems
Branch of the National Library of Australia of the use of Internet to
send and receive images, and brief presentations by a range of
associations which have an interest in optical technologies, to gain a
better understanding of their work.
This will be followed by questions (at 10.30 a.m.), introductions by
attendees who wish to introduce themselves and briefly outline their
particular interests (at 10.45 a.m.), and morning tea (at 11.00 a.m.).
Time will be provided after morning tea for adoption of minutes and
discussion of matters arising from previous meetings (at 11.15 a.m.),
and an exchange of experiences relating to the use of optical
technologies in the Australian Public Service. The meeting is expected
to finish around noon.
